Renée LaJoie is a Master's Level MA in Counselling Psychology practicum student who is qualified to practice onsite under the Clinical Supervision of Trenton Akers, MSW-Clinical Specialization.

She brings a blend of creativity and empathy to her practice
deeply committed to holistic healing and the powerful connection between the mind, body, and spirit. Her approach is primarily person-centered, meaning she prioritizes building authentic, trusting relationships with her clients, empowering them to guide their own healing journey.

Understanding that every individual is unique, Renée tailors her therapeutic approach to meet the specific need of each person. She integrates a humanistic approach, which emphasizes personal growth, self-acceptance, and the inherent potential for positive change. At times, she also explores unconscious patterns and how past experiences influence present behaviours, offering deeper insight into the client’s emotional world.
As a naturally curious and empathic listener, Renée provides a safe and supportive space where clients feel truly understood and valued, regardless of what they are going through. Renée
believes in walking alongside clients as they strive for balance and well-being, offering guidance while respecting their ability to shape their own path.

Please note that in many cases, Counsellors and Practicum Students are assigned to clients based
on their areas of expertise, availability for appointments, and other factors deemed important by the client (i.e., age, gender, insurance benefits, etc.). These decisions are often made at the discretion of the agency/practicum site and a direct referral to me may not be guaranteed.

Renee will be working her practicum from September 2024 to April 2025 and will be offering a range of availability. As she completes her learning, she prioritizes accessible and Compassionate Care with 'pay what you can' treatment investment ranging from $5-75 per session based on need and income.
