Hello! My name is Kim Friesen and I have been a Registered Psychologist in Medicine Hat for 10 years. I am a daughter, a sister, a wife, and a Mom. Sharing your lived experience with someone takes a tremendous amount of courage and your therapeutic journey should be grounded in trust, allowance, and unconditional acceptance.

Using a holistic approach and drawing upon a variety of different forms of therapy, I work collaboratively to address present intrapersonal and interpersonal issues and to heal unresolved relational traumas or ruptures that when untreated can often manifest in other symptoms.

Sharing your story with someone is a privilege to that person and the therapeutic relationship is extremely unique and special. I invite you into that process and hope to make a connection with you.

Hello there—I’m Trevor. I believe that life is a journey, one marked by both challenges and triumphs. Healing often means untangling layers of pain and experience, and that process can be difficult—but you don’t have to go through it alone. My mission is to walk alongside you with empathy, curiosity, and unwavering support as you move toward healing, self-awareness, and growth.

I work with adults and teens navigating a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, men’s issues, relationships, communication, parenting, substance use, life transitions, stress, and more. I tailor each session to the unique needs of the individual, recognizing that counselling is never one-size-fits-all. Whether you're tackling immediate challenges or exploring deeper patterns, my goal is to create a safe, compassionate space where you feel seen, supported, and empowered.

I have a special interest in working with athletes and first responders—people who live and work under immense pressure. With nearly two decades of law enforcement experience, I understand the toll that high-stress environments can take. Whether you're looking to manage stress, optimize performance, or recover from trauma, I offer practical strategies to enhance focus, resilience, and overall well-being.

My approach is holistic, honoring the mind-body connection and recognizing the many layers that influence mental health. I draw on evidence-based practices and adapt them to suit your needs and preferences. My work is grounded in authenticity, respect, and a genuine belief in your capacity for change.

Outside of the therapy room, I’m a husband, father to two daughters, devoted dog lover, and an outdoor enthusiast. I understand the importance of balance, family, and connection—and I bring that perspective into the work I do with clients.

If you're ready to begin—or continue—your journey, I'm here to support you every step of the way.

Trevor practices under the supervision of psychologist Kim Friesen

A curandera is a Mexican healer or medicine woman, who uses folk remedies or medicines that are not prescribed by a doctor. Maria Sabina’s wisdom and gift led her to serve as a bridge between the mystical and ritual worlds of her people, and the mystical exploration of the Western world through utilization of mushrooms as healing agents.

She owned and operated a dance studio for 11 years, teaching many girls from childhood into young adulthood and naturally becoming a mentor and role model along the way. Several of her former students later assisted her in teaching, deepening those relationships and building leadership skills.

Seeing the need for more intentional one-on-one support beyond those brief conversations between classes, Becky completed her Teen Girl Life Coaching certification and began offering private coaching sessions focused on self-esteem, emotional resilience, communication, and personal development. She later expanded into group coaching programs that were well-received by families and supported by local businesses. As a mother of teenagers, she understands firsthand the pressures and complexities girls face today.

Becky has also supported vulnerable youth through her volunteer work with Victim Assistance at the Medicine Hat Police Service, helping young women navigate the court process during difficult and sensitive circumstances. Through this work, along with her Brain Story Certification, she brings a trauma-aware understanding of how early experiences shape emotional development—informing her grounded, compassionate approach with teens.

Known for her warm, approachable presence, Becky quickly puts teens at ease. Her sessions are friendly, genuine, and non-judgmental, giving girls a safe space to speak honestly and be fully themselves.

Her broader background includes working as an Education Assistant with high-needs students, teaching K–6 physical education, and supporting local businesses and community initiatives through her role with the Chamber of Commerce. Through her coaching, Becky offers a strengths-based, future-focused approach that equips girls with tools for confidence, emotional regulation, healthy boundaries, assertive communication, and authentic self-expression. She believes every girl deserves a trusted adult outside the family and school system who can walk alongside her during these pivotal years.
